Where to Vote on Election Day – Eastern Suburbs

The Third and Final Trial will occur on Saturday, against Oatley (details will be posted later in the week), which is also the day of the NSW State Election.

Sooo…. remember to vote on the day, preferably before the trials start.

If you want to do it in between matches, check out the maps below for various voting booth locations in the Eastern Suburbs for the Vaucluse, Coogee, Sydney, and Maroubra areas.

Note the trial will be at Dover Heights, so check out the Vaucluse Map for near by voting booth locations.

AGM Time and Location

Further to the Notice of the Annual General Meeting, confirmation of the exact time and location are below.

The 2010 AGM of Waverley Rugby Club will be held on 3.30pm on Saturday October 30, 2010, at Waverley Bowling Club.

The business of the 2010 AGM will be:

- To receive and consider the Reports of the Committee (including Treasurer’s Report)
- To elect the Club Officials for the 2011 Season
- Receive any business duly advised prior to the AGM

All current Committee positions will be declared vacant. The following roles will be voted on, in the following order:

- President
- Senior Vice President
- Senior Vice President
- Club Captain
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Social Secretary
- General Committee
- General Committee
- General Committee

Even if you are not able to run for a Committee role, please try and attend the AGM. After the survey, this is your chance to have some say in the running of the Club. The bigger the turn out the better.

After the AGM is closed, we’ll also have a general discussion about which direction people want to take the club. This will be a great starting block for the 2011 Committee.

A copy of the Club’s Constitution is included below (please note the By-Laws are not current)

Constitution – Waverley Rugby Club.pdf

Current Committee Intentions

As per earlier news items nearly everyone currently serving on the Committee have indicated they will not be seeking re-election for 2011.

Heading into our 40th year, the make up of the Committee will be particularly important. To limit the impact of a complete turn over on the Committee, the existing Committee have committed to ensuring as smooth as transition as possible, and to help out as much as they are able to throughout the year.

Sponsors Wanted

2011 will be a massive year for the club given the 40th Anniversary celebrations, meaning Waverley is able to offer potential sponsors more than we already can. So if you’re interested in Sponsoring, know someone who may be, or can help out chasing sponsors, please get in contact with The Secretary to discuss.

Sponsorship discussions are already well progressed with a number of organisations, and your assistance will be further icing on the cake.

Volunteers

If you do not want to commit to a Committee role, why not become a volunteer for the club?

This year, we’ll particularly need a dedicated group of people for the Social Committee. Working with the Social Secretary, you will help put on an array of events throughout the year, including:

- Open Night (held in February to welcome new members)
- Ladies Day
- Family Day
- Back to Waverley Day (the Old Boys Day)
- Presentation Night
- 40th Anniversary Dinner (and associated celebrations)
- Other events (Trivia Nights, theme nights, whatever takes your fancy).
- Golf Day

You don’t necessarily need to commit to helping run all of these. Maybe, just take responsibility for running an event or two.

There are also a heap of other things needing doing around the club. See some suggestions here.

The annual Player’s Player award is one of the most important awards that is presented at Waverley each year.

Overall, it is presented to the rugby club player who has made a positive impact on the voter.

The criteria is really up to you, but you should consider; on-field rugby ability, off-field behaviour, involvement over the entire season etc.

This person should have made a constructive influence towards the club, its members and, ultimately, to your playing experience at Waverley.

You can select a player from your grade, or any other grade in the club, including Colts.

Note there is a separate award for both the Men and Women. Only players in the women’s team can vote for the Women’s Player’s Player and vice versa.

To vote, follow the links above.

You may only vote once. If you have already completed a vote, please ignore this article.
