The Committee is ALWAYS looking for volunteers to assist with the running of a successful club, both on and off the field.

Don’t have a lot of time to contribute? No worries. A few hours here and there every few weeks will make a monumental difference.

Below is a list of potential roles. The list is not exhaustive. If you think you could help out in any other way, please contact a Committee member to discuss your ideas and to offer your help. Anything is greatly appreciated.

As with any community based organisation, Waverley Rugby Club cannot successfully function with out the support and involvement of all its members, their families and friends, former players and other interested people. So please put your hand up!

Area Role
Selectors / Talent Identification To assist with managing and identifying playing talent across all grades, the committee would like to establish a group of volunteer selectors to assist the coaches.
Managers A couple of vacancies still exist. If you can help out, even occassionally contact the committee.
Team Representatives Unfortunately problems pop up during the year. Players from across the grades are wanted to liaise with the coaches and committee to address these ASAP.
Referees The club needs to provide two emergency referees. Qualifications will be paid for by the club if one doesn’t already exist.
Touch Judges The club needs to provide four emergency touch judges. Qualifications will be paid for by the club if one doesn’t already exist.
Ground Marshals NSW Suburban Rugby Union has tightened the clubs obligations for managing people on and near the player area. We need a number of volunteers to manage this during homegames.
Equipment Officer Good at organisation? Waverley has a lot of kit, balls, jerseys, witches hats… you get the gist. This costs the club a lot of money each year, and it would be great for someone to help manage this.
Registrar Know everyone in the club? Good at stats? Why not put your hand up to help out with managing the registrations and results.
“Old Boys” Coordinators The committe is wanting to maintain a connection with the “Waverley Family” get in touch with everyone formerly involved with Waverley RFSC, including current and former players, managers, and family members.
Social Committee Do you have good ideas for 2007 and are prepared to help organise?
Photography Photos of games have been a massive hit since regular pics were put up on Flickr in 2007. If you can take some photos every so often let us know. Note: You don’t need a swish camera with massive lens to do this. Point and Shoots will do the trick nicely, especially for getting photos of supporters / post match functions.
Videography We’re looking to ramp up our filming of games. If you’ve got a camera and can rercord a game or two, let us know.
Website Coordinator The website is one of the key ways of communicating with the club community! As you can see from this new website, we’ve opened things up so it is easier to manage a number of different contributors (ie your life should be much easier).
Newsletter The Waverley Whisper has been a bit quiet in recent years, and we need to boost the profile on home and away games. It’s pretty simple really, you just need to co-ordinate with the various contributors in order to publish the club newsletter, at least for home games
Match Reviewers That’s right. Reviewers! We need a group of people to write the reviews. It can be fun or serious, but we’d like to have a review of every game, every week for the season. It only needs to be a few words
Roving Reporters Got gossip? Got time to do some “player profiles”. Any material is welcome!
Play-of-the-Day-Awards That’s right, another opportunity to spread the dirt on the funny things that happen throughout the season.

Remember: If there is not something for you on this list, don’t worry!. There is a role for you whether it seems big or small!
