This Saturday sees the real kick-off for women’s rugby in Sydney for the 2011 season.
A Sevens comp is being held at Redfern (National Centre of Indigenous Excellence) with each team who play in the 15s competition entering at least one team.
Waverley have strong numbers at the moment so have decided to field two teams. This gives us the chance to run a very competitive team of girls who will be able to take on the likes of Warringah and Sydney Uni, and also run a 2nd team to ensure that girls new to rugby get a chance to take to the field. However, don’t under-estimate the 2nd team! There are plenty of girls in the 2nd team who have played several years of rugby, so they might be the surprise stars of the day.
If you don’t have much planned for Saturday please come along to watch for a while. The draw is as follows:
