After dominating the Division Two Richardson Cup for the last two seasons, The Alexander Associates 4th Grade faced it’s sternest test in 40 matches, securing a last minute victory.
Down 10 points to 5, in the final play of the game, Waverley scored a touch line try to level the scores. With just the conversion in the way, Waverley managed to do what the Wallabies couldn’t and slotted the kick from a difficult touch line position.
It was an epic way to finish the year, and no doubt flavoured the subsequent celebrations later that evening.
No doubt Newport were gutted, to have come so close, having provided Waverley some much needed quality opposition.
Congratulations Boys.
